woo - two days in a row!

i can't stand to even write about this - but i'm a bit worried that good old A-B might actually get bought up. poor st. louis...we can't keep a company here to save our lives. i'm sure that the purchase would be a great deal for the top execs at a-b (reports are saying auggie III would walk away with $300MM...not too shabby), but come on. it's budweiser, locally brewed and locally owned. i enjoy a stella from time to time, but that doesn't mean that i want the same company to own all my beers.

so in all of the uproar, there are many "save a-b" petition sites circulating around...and i'd like to know just how effective these could possibly be. here's an international company willing to spend $46.3 billion on a takeover, and we've got 36,000 signatures on some web site? oh, and gov. blunt says he's got our back....riiiiight. what's he going to do, chain himself to the brewery? it's all up to the shareholders, and we can only hope they make a good decision.

this article says the belgians don't want to take corporate offices out of st. louis, and it would become the hq for their north american operations and their international operations. that sounds nice, but it doesn't really make sense that they'd move everything here. or could st. louis actually be the beer capital of the world?

stay tuned folks - we'll see what happens!
